The prologue is very measurable to the way the story is set up, and it contains important information about the story. For example, it shows how an animal feels when a human dies in the story, aside from how other humans feel. Lizs dog Lucy states the Lizs parents had said that the accident was quick, painless, and it ended quickly, but Lucy wonders how they know if it was quick and painless because they werent make water by the car, Liz was. Also, to hide the pain, Lucy just tells herself that Liz is away at college and she wont come back for a while. In addition, the prologue is the first glimpse of the entire story because this is the first cartridge clip Lizs true furry friend Lucy is introduced, and later beget out that Lucy is probably the reason Liz likes working with dogs.

Alvy, Lizs brother, tells Lucy that in time though she was Lizs dog, they will always take bring off of her, and maybe she can sleep in his room now. As well as that instance, Lucy tells herself that she hopes that she will see Liz again after she dies. To conclude, the way the prologue is set up, it foreshadows upcoming level offts. The first line in the book is, the end came quickly, and there wasnt any pain, makes us wonder what happened that was the end.
