The abbreviation sudden infant death syndrome stands for sudden infant death syndrome. It strikes 1 in 1,000 U.S. babies. crib death is the top-ranking cause of infant mortality in the United States. sudden infant death syndrome happens often too premature and low-birth weight babies. Living in a house where the parents smoke or being sic face down in the bed raises the risk for infant death. xc five percent cot death deaths takes place between 2 and 5 months. When babies that have weak reflexes are placed in a stressful situation, their breathing can be overwhelmed. cot death much often occurs in winter months, with the peak in January. There is also a greater rate of SIDS among Native and African Americans. SIDS affects boys more often than girls. more children die from SIDS than aids, cancer, heart disease, child abuse, cystic fibrosis and tendinous dystrophy. The cause of SIDS is un fill inn but characteristics with the syndrome have been identified. SIDS relates to my major in many different ways. I am planning on majoring in some field dealing with pediatrics. I also was interested in learning more about SIDS because my sister just had a light girl who is 4 weeks old. SIDS deals with infants so this could help me know more about syndromes dealing with babies.
