The theme of good versus evil in the legends Enders Game by Orson Scott Card and Veronica Roths Divergent is explored by good characters overcoming obstacles in the pursuit of success. In both novels, their main characters suffer through difficult obstacles to light upon success. They even provide a setting which creates more obstacles for the protagonist. twain pens use different methods of conveying the story to the readers.
When a someone is set about with a problem, he would be faced with devising a decision, how he would swap with that problem. The way people deal with their problems show much more about them than anything else, which is displayed a muss in Enders Game. Ender Wiggins, the main character of the novel, deals with his problems in an in articulateigent, calculated, level headed fashion. Even against the odds, Ender wont lose his cool Your nonplus would be proud of you... Oh, what honour... You can go home and tell [him]... I only had six of my friends to help me... even though he was naked and wet and alone (p.209). Even when faced with a material problem, he has the intellect to fight with Bonzo and his 6 friends psychologically instead of using tool force. Most other people would have reacted in a much different way than this, like Beatrice Prior, in the novel Divergent.
Beatrice takes her problems with a much more head on physical way. She cant keep her emotions in check when dealings with her problems. A perfect example of this would be when someone from her the cabal she just joined made fun of her family and old faction. I had enough of her. Insulting me was one thing but haughty my faction! I punched her square in the jaw. (p. 328). Although you are not allowed to fight your faction members, Beatrice broke this rule because she couldnt swan her emotions. This shows that people react differently to the obstacles that are laid in front of them
