Welcome to the Wireless Technology Seminar Module on third generation (3G) wireless technologies, cdma2000 and 3GPP, W-CDMA. The aim of this module is to discuss the trade drivers behind the third generation technologies, the implementation of the technology, and inform the test challenges associated with these technologies. The module will look at the similarities and differences in the midst of these systems and will review test requirements for both user terminals and metrical unit stations. ========================================================

The defraud extendd to the audience for this cdma2000 Basics module: cdma2000 Basics This presentation covers the fundamentals of the cdma2000 3G wireless technology. cdma2000 is one of the primary proposals submitted in response to the ITUs (International Telecommunication Union) IMT-2000 initiative for establishment of global standards for high secureness wireless selective information transmission.
The cdma2000 solution provides for a doubling of overall capacity and possibly a faster time to market for new higher data rate services. With initial data rates of 144 kilobits per second (kbps) that will increase to 2 megabits per second (Mbps), manufacturers will be able to develop products that provide voice, high-speed data and video over wireless networks. Topics to be covered include the key characteristics of cdma2000, its status in the instauration market, and the relationship between cdma2000 (IS-2000), cdmaOne (IS-95) and W-CDMA (3GPP).
