People of ecstasy say that back in the day was a simpler time as compared to now. In my var. 10 history course I learn that they were. I also l earn that they were much more destructive. In the simpler generation of the early 1900s came numerous tragedies. World War I; ten million dead, the Great Depression; thousands unemployed worldwide and at last World War II; 73 million dead. World War II was defined by its discriminatory actions.
During the events of WWII thither were many people who had their rights taken away, and because they were different. The discrimination was not only happening in Germany, there was much of it in Canada as well. The rights of Japanese Canadians were taken in 1941 for fear that they were Japanese spies, even if they could not speak Japanese, those rights were not replaced until 1947[1].If the Canadian government could not get them all into one of the incarceration camps they would just give them some other episodic housing. Once there were 8 000 Japanese Canadians were forced to make up in an exhibition hall until they could be moved to an internment camp[2].
These internment camps, while not as bad as concentration and extermination camps in Germany they still were poor housing. They lived in overcrowded and dirty housing units, they were fed daily although not the great food. The men had to work in labour camps and only earned about 25 cents a day. The Canadian government lastly apologized for their actions. After 40 years the Canadian government apologized and gave 22 000 dollars to the families of the Japanese Canadians who had been sent to an internment camp[3].
